Micaela Machado Bio

Micaela Machado AKA “Beba”, was born and raised in the border town of Nogales, Arizona. She attended Salpointe Catholic High School and then graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Sculpture and a minor in business. From there she worked on the road sculpting and painting naturalistic environments for zoos and aquariums up and down California creating inserts for Pebble Beach, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the Santa Barbara Zoo. Micaela then returned to Tucson and graduated with honors from CAPLA at the University of Arizona with her Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.

Micaela was nationally awarded in 2013 by the Environmental Protection Agency for her design in The Rain Water Harvesting Challenge and has continued her education with Smart Scape and Sustainable Design certifications. Her goals include adding sustainable elements in every single design she touches and volunteering her time in sustainable community efforts.
